How do you like it? To: ham-equip@ucsd.edu Hello, I was wondering how other owners of hw-8 like their rigs. I enjoy mine alot for listening and copying code though due to the fact I live in an apartment I haven't been able to put up a transmitting antenna. I'll be moving in a month to a place where I'll be able to put a good antenna. Could someone point me in the right direction for building a good antenna for the hw-8. I would like to build an antenna or antennas that would let me. Transmit on 40 be portible (camping use) (backpacking) So this could be 1 or 2 antennas I guess. I have the ARRL antenna book which has good (I guess) plans for a dipole which is simple and in my skill range. What has been your expiriance?
